Andy Abzah, the man, recently got over his fear of flying and now has a close-bonded obsession with airplanes. He cites sculpture, Egon Schiele naked portraits and Russian communist typography as his early artistic inspiration. Greg Kotler, on the other hand, has been obsessed with Afro-American culture, junk food and the playful words of writer Georges Perec, from an early age. Currently, Greg explores his various secretive alter egos through experimental music he makes in the strange hours, and yet the only thing that makes him cry is ‘watching sports documentaries’.

Andy and Greg are Kasafilms; a five year working-partnership which has morphed into a trademark style, rhythm and vision of filmmaking. This Israeli-raised and educated team have experimented in various niches along the way, from digital graphic design, sound mastering, post production effects to cinematography. After recently pairing with Nimrod Peled, a fashion art director and performance artist, they’ve birthed their own vocabulary of aesthetics; a mix of undercooked glam and over-carved grunge which combines for a youthful elegance. Inherent in their work is an appreciation for natural rhythm, in-the-flesh chemistry, free-flow choreography and abstract settings which lead into loose-story lines; and thus the duo have become adept at producing compelling fashion films, music videos, commercial shorts and documentary.

Kasafilms is now based in Berlin, drawn by the city’s ever-flowing dialogue between commerce and art. Kasafilms is a regular contributor to the TwentyFourSeven fashion company, they often collaborate with Ron Kahn, an art director for the Renuar corporation, having generated a unique style for an array of company imagery, including fashion designs, digital marketing and commerce templates. Kasafilms has also created advertising campaigns for leading brands in Israel (and worldwide), including MTV, Elle Magazine, Castro, Renuar, LK Jewelry, Miki Buganim Academy, Hot, Comme ill Faut, Schwarzkopf, Loreal, Sela, FTV, So Popular, Rekorder, Volksbank & Kaltblut Magazine.
